"Dear JSAer,
Welcome to the Mid-Atlantic State’s home on the web! I am very excited, as I am sure you are as well, to begin the 2007-2008 JSA school year, which promises to be the best in the MAS’ 11 years of statehood. As you may read throughout our website, JSA was founded some 74 years ago in San Mateo, California, by Professor Ernest A. Rogers.  His goal was to create a constructive environment where high school students – the future leaders of America – could come to discuss politics, current events, government, and the law. Given the period of world war during which the Junior State of America was founded, Prof Rogers was understandably concerned that democracy was in

peril, and was determined to foster an appreciation for it in America’s youth.In this, Prof Rogers seems to have succeeded.  Our motto, “Democracy is not a spectator sport,” reminds us of the importance of being participatory members..." Click here for full article.
