Geography:
NJR – New Jersey Region, comprised of all JSA chapters in New Jersey, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
SAR – South Atlantic Region, comprised of all the JSA chapters in Pennsylvania, Maryland, Delaware, Washington D.C., Virginia, and North Carolina.
MAS – Mid-Atlantic State. A breakdown of the national organization that oversees all JSA chapters and activities, the Mid-Atlantic state is made up of the New Jersey and South Atlantic Regions.

NES – North Eeast State, the JSA state to the north of the Mid-Atlantic State. Includes the ECR (Empire Constitution region) and NER (New England Region)
Organizational Bodies:
SA – State Assembly, the legislative body of the Mid-Atlantic State. The State Assembly writes laws pertaining to the way JSA government works, confirms/rejects cabinet appointments, impeaches elected officials, and from time to time issues “planks,” or official statements of opinion on behalf of the Mid-Atlantic State’s members.
COCP – Council of Chapter Presidents, an advisory committee where chapter presidents can meet to discuss and solve each other’s problems. The COCP may also pass “town ordinances,” which have legislative power in their respective regions.
CIA – Chapter Internal Affairs, whose directors are the link between the chapter and the region.
CIA Directors are responsible for reporting and helping to solve chapter problems, as well as
keeping in touch with chapter presidents and informing them of upcoming events.
CoG – Council of Governors, comprised of the nine JSA state governors from around the country. The Council of Governors elects among its members a chair, trustee, and a secretary. In addition, they appoint national cabinet of JSAers from all around the country, coordinate the Montezuma Leadership Summit, and oversee the Junior State as a national organization. The Council plays a major administrative role in the Junior State of America and the Junior Statesmen Foundation offices.
Cabinet – Staff appointed to assist the Elected Officers in running the state or region. Each officer selects their cabinet for their term.
Chapter - Existing on the high school level, the chapter is the most fundamental level of JSA. Each JSA member belongs to a tax paid chapter of a region and a state.
Positions:
Governor – Elected head of the State.
LTG – Lieutenant Governor, tlected Speaker of the State Assembly. Also manages the Justice Department, Activism, Expansion, and Community service.
Mayor – Elected head of the Region.
Vice-Mayor – Elected Regional officer. Manages chapter affairs.
DOD – Director of Debate, who is in charge of creating and organizing all the debates that take place at JSA events. He or she is responsible for signing debaters up and ensuring that the debates run smoothly.
CC – Convention Coordinator, who is the cabinet member in charge of putting together and organizing the state conventions.
Other:
Reg Desk – Registration Desk, a table usually located at the entrance of an event or another key location. This is where you sign in, pick up your agenda, and get your name tag!
