As American politicians hide behind partisanship and continually refuse to compromise on the issues that define our nation, it becomes critical that we, as citizens of the United States, analyze the issues that divide us. Why do those who are trying to effect change face dissent before their ideas are even articulated? Why has partisanship become the face of Washington D.C. instead of the democracy that was created for the people? By examining the aspects of America that divide us, perhaps we can determine how to once more become united.
At the Mid-Atlantic Fall State Convention, hundreds of JSAers from across the country will meet in Cherry Hill, NJ to discuss some of the most important, and yet most divisive, issues facing our nation. This overnight convention will feature much more than standard JSA debates -- several simulations, including a Crisis Scenario, Mock Trial, and a House of Commons simulation, will give JSAers a unique insight into the workings of politics and government. Fall State will also be visited by a distinguished guest speaker and will include a Quiz Bowl, Master Debater tournament, fund-raisers for children with cancer, and even a dance! This is one convention you will not want to pass up!

The MAS Fall State will take place at the Crown Plaza Philadelphia-Cherry Hill (2349 W. Marlton Pike, Cherry Hill, New Jersey 08002). Students arrive between 8:00am and 10:00am on Saturday, November 10 and will depart at around 4:00pm on Sunday, November 11th. Registration is $96 for JSA members and $99 for non-members. Transportation and food are not included with the registration fee, however the Junior State offers complementary registration for teacher-advisers accompanying delegations (one teacher per 19 teachers).
